New 10-minute rule for vehicles at Kochi Airport

NEDUMBASSERY:  With a view to streamline the increasing vehicular traffic at Kochi Airport effectively, it has been decided to implement restrictions at the entry and exit points with effect from Wednesday.The contractor for car park management will take over the operations from Wednesday.  Entry tickets will be issued by the car parking contractor from the cabin at the entry point to the international and domestic terminals and they will collect payment from the exit cabin. Vehicles will be permitted only to pick up and drop passengers in front of the terminals and parking will be allowed only in the designated car park area.Vehicles will be given 10 minutes to pick up/drop passengers and leave airport premises or enter the car park. Vehicles crossing the 10 minutes time limit will be charged at the normal car parking rates at the exit point.Vehicles taking the entry ticket from the entry point if required can directly go to the car parking by paying the required charges as it is now.
