THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The new Indian Institute of Information Technology (IIIT) sanctioned for the state will be set up in Pala in Kottayam district, Industries Minister P K Kunhalikutty informed the Assembly on Friday. The IIIT, to be set up at a cost of Rs. 128 crore, is one of the 20 new institutes sanctioned in the country. The Kerala State Industrial Development Corporation has been asked to find an industrial partner for the project. “The IIIT has been sanctioned following a request to the Union Government by MP Jose K Mani,” he said.
