Indore: National Investigation Agency (NIA) has arrested a man belonging to a right wing group near Indore in connection with the May 2007 Mecca Masjid blast that left 13 people dead in Hyderabad.
Tej Ram was apprehended by NIA sleuths on Monday afternoon from Ravidas Marg area of Depalpur, 15 km from Indore, Sub Divisional Officer of Police Shaligram Sankhedia said on Tuesday.
He said Tej Ram is a driver by profession. He is believed to be a member of the right wing group that is suspected to be behind the Samjhauta Express blast which claimed 68 lives on February 18, 2007.
Nine people were killed in the blast during Friday prayers at Mecca Masjid on May 18, 2007. Five more people were killed in police firing on protesters outside the mosque after the blasts.
Earlier this month, NIA had arrested two persons, Dhan Singh and Rajinder Chaudhary, in connection with the Samjhauta Express blast case.
