Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar on Thursday hailed the surgical operation conducted by the Army across the Line of Control to destroy terror camps.
"We are proud of our Indian Army and we salute and appreciate their bravery and valour," Kumar said in a release issued by the government.
"We sincerely congratulate the Central government and our brave armed forces for the decisive action taken against terrorism," Kumar, who is the JD(U) national president, said in a tweet.
Earlier in the day, Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh had called up the Chief Minister regarding the Army's surgical operations in the intervening night.
Kumar had recently said he would back the Centre's steps to reply to Pakistan sponsored terror attack at the Uri Army camp, which left 19 soldiers dead.
The Army's successful military operation across the LoC was also hailed by other political leaders of the state.
Senior BJP leader Sushil Kumar Modi said the operation was the reflection of NDA government's resolute determination.
"Prime Minister Narendra Modi has demonstrated what he had promised in dealing with the misdemeanour of Pakistan," he said.
