ERODE/MADURAI: Erode district judge K Jayasankaran on Monday dismissed the bail pleas of former minister and DMK district secretary N K K P Raja, and Mayor Kumarmurugesh.Their bail pleas were turned down after public prosecutor Krishnasamy opposed the plea on the ground that some more persons had to be arrested and more investigation had to be conducted in the land grab complaint, filed by P C Ramasamy of Perundurai.Similarly, the bail applications moved individually by DMK district deputy secretary O C Viswanathan, son Rajendran, land purchaser Balasubramaniam, who were also arrested and lodged in Coimbatore prison with Raja in the case, were rejected.Conditional Bail for Thalapathi, Two Others Meanwhile, three other DMK functionaries, including Madurai urban secretary Thalapathi, were granted conditional bail by the Madurai Bench of the HC.Pappa and husband Sivanandi of Chenkulam village had lodged a complaint with the Madurai crime branch that Thalapathi, Thirumangalam panchayat union chairman Kodi Chandrasekar and Krishnapandi had bought their 5.5-acre land in the village for a paltry sum. They had also allegedly threatened Pappa.All three men were arrested and lodged in Palayamkottai prison. They filed bail petitions.The judge granted the bail with the condition that they should sign at the JM Court-1 in Madurai every day.
