Noon meal to continue during summer vacation

BHUBANESWAR: Mid-day meal (MDM) scheme will continue in schools in drought-affected areas of the State during the summer vacation.Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Friday directed the School and Mass Education Department to carry on the scheme in primary and upper primary schools, and schools under the National Child Labour Scheme in areas declared drought-affected by the State Government.   Noon meal in these areas will be provided as cooked food. The benefit will also be extended to schools in areas which were declared drought-hit in 2010 and 2011. The summer vacation in schools will be from May 4 to June 16.
