NEW DELHI: Snooping is no easy job. The James Bonds from Tamil Nadu CID are having a hard time keeping an eye on their high-profile target, Kanthi Alagiri, residing in the leafy bungalow No.1 on Kamraj Marg. One of them nearly got arrested when Defence Ministry personnel reported their “suspicious” movements in around the high-security Kamraj Marg that houses the Sena Bhavan and the DRDO.Out of the anonymity of their secret chambers in Tamil Nadu Bhavan, the State CID team was on the prowl at Kamraj Marg, keeping a close eye on Kanthi’s movements. Sources said the CIDs have been on her trail ever since her presence in New Delhi was indicated in the visitor’s log book in Tihar jail.Just as she paid a visit along with husband, Union Minister M K Alagiri, to sis-in-law Kanimozhi, incarcerated in Tihar for a while now, this Monday, the CID got wind of her presence in Delhi and started trailing her.Well, the CID team — one inspector and two constables — didn’t quite climb the trees of Kamraj Marg, but did something equally conspicuous to make the Sena Bhavan officials suspicious.Their movements were reported to the Delhi Police. Thankfully, their identity saved the constable on constant duty from an imminent arrest. But why isn’t the team simply taking the help of their counterparts in Delhi?
