THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: CPI state secretary C K Chandrappan has demanded the resignation of Chief Minister Oommen Chandy in the wake of the recent developments in the palmolein case. He alleged that the decision of the Vigilance judge to rescue himself from the palmolein case trial was the result of blackmailing pursued by UDF and the Chief Minister. Conspiring against judiciary cannot be justified in a democratic system, he said. Chandy was instrumental in protecting P C George who was behind the latest developments. “The role of P C George is like a hatchet man and hence he should be ousted,’’ Chandrappan said.
