Pacheco case: Activist now files police case against Manohar Parrikar
Rodrigues said, "as per reliable information, the accused (Pacheco) is holed up at 10, Akbar Road (Delhi) and was being sheltered by Parrikar in his official bungalow."

Panaji: Social activist and lawyer Aires Rodrigues, whose petition led to a court in Panaji to issue warrant for search of the official residence of Union Defence Minister Manohar Parrikar, on Friday filed a police case against the former Goa chief minister for "harbouring" the absconding state minister Fransisco Miccky Pacheco.

In a complaint filed with Colva police station under section 216 of IPC, Rodrigues said, "as per reliable information, the accused (Pacheco) is holed up at 10, Akbar Road (Delhi) and was being sheltered by Parrikar in his official bungalow."

Superintendent of Police Shekhar Prabhudesai confirmed the development and said that police would examine the complaint before taking further action.

Rodrigues had earlier moved the magistrate's court in Margao, which issued a search warrant for Parrikar's official bungalow in Delhi. The order was stayed on the same evening by district judge PV Sawaikar.

Pacheco's conviction for slapping a government employee was recently upheld by the Supreme Court, following which he went missing. Rodrigues has said that police should have checked the phone call details of both Pacheco and Parrikar.
