Bucharest: Leander Paes and Mahesh Bhupathi have won their doubles rubber to push the tie to the third day in the Davis Cup World Group play off between India and Romania.
The Indian duo were just too good for the Romania pair of Victor Cruciat and Horia Tecau.
Both won their service games in the first set until Paes and Bhupathi broke to win it 6-4.
The Romanian duo came back to take a 3-1 lead in the second set. However, the experience of Paes and Bhupathi came through at the nick of time.
They took the set to the tie-breaker, storming it 7-0.
Winning the third set was mere formality.
The reverse singles will be played on Sunday.
Both the sides can change their players on the day of play.
Romania still have a 2-1 lead over India and need just 1 win to close out the tie.
