Kolkata: In the first Bengali masala film having extensive fight sequences in the Arabian desert, the high-budget lavishly-mounted 'Paglu 2', having current Tolly stars Deb-Koel in the lead roles has also extensive locales in Switzerland and France.
"To my knowledge 'Paglu 2' is the first Bengali film which has such elaborate fight scenes in the deserts of UAE. We worked for hours in the soaring heat to perfect the shots. I hope the effort shows on the screen and will look good as 'Paglu 2' is a very technically sound movie," Deb told PTI at a film premier here last week.
Besides UAE, the movie had its shoots in the snow-clad mountains in Switzerland, places where Yash Chopra had shot the timeless 'Chandni' and France. "There was a time when we had to change 10 hotels in flat eight day period and wear thin dresses under sub-sero temperature," Deb, the hero of at least 10 Bengali blockbusters in last four years, said.
Coming to his on-screen chemistry with Koel, his pair in super-duper hit 'Paglu' which had run for over three months two years back, Deb said "she is a leading actress in Bengali film industry and we vibe well I guess."
Deb, who has also turned up opposite several other Tollywood actresses including Subhoshree, said he was hopeful about turning up opposite Koel in future films, including 'Paglu 3' as hopefully she will act in films again after marriage with a big notch young Bengali film producer.
