New Delhi: Pakistan's foreign secretary Riaz Mohammad Khan is in New Delhi for peace talks with his Indian counter-part Shyam Saran and to kick-start the third round of the Composite Dialogue process.
He said he looks forward to contructive talks and that Indo-Pak peace and security is high on Pakistan's agenda.
In the forthcoming week, India has several high-profile visits including those by the Prime Ministers of Ireland, the Netherlands the Czech Republic and the Foreign Secretary of Pakistan.
Saudi monarch Abdullah Bin Abdul Aziz Al Saud will arrive in the Capital on a significant visit to be the Chief Guest at the Republic Day parade and hold discussions with India's top leadership. This is the first time in 51 years that a Saudi King is visiting India.
US President George Bush will also visit India within the next few weeks although the dates have not been officially announced.
Irish Prime Minister Bertie Ahern arrived in Bangalore on a trade mission and to spruce up bilateral relations. He will be in Delhi on January 18-19 for talks with Prime Minister Manmohan Singh.
