TIRUMALA: In a shocking incident on the holy hill on Saturday, a woman working with Sulabh International, a company providing housekeeping services to the TTD, was seriously injured when attacked by her paramour.According to the police, Savitri from BR Puram, near Vadamalapet, had been involved in an extra- marital affair with one Kumar for 18 months and has, of late, been keeping off him as she developed intimacy with another man. On coming to know of it, Kumar developed a grudge against Savitri and attacked her with a blade near the Annadanam Complex here on Saturday, injuring her seriously on the cheek and in the neck and the back. She was admitted to the Aswini Hospital where the doctors administered first aid. In all, 17 stitches were made to close her wounds.Later she was shifted to the SVR Ruia Government General Hospital in Tirupati for further treatment.In an another incident, a mentally- challenged youth attacked himself with stones and a blade at HT Shopping Complex near Ram Bhageecha Guest House here, and his both legs and hands, face and chest were injured.Brahmanandam, a passerby, and another pilgrim took pity and took him to the Aswani Hospital.The doctors treated the youth and offered him food, and sent him to the SVRR Hospital.
