THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The Delegate Forum, formed by a group of delegates of the International Film Festival of Kerala, has submitted a plea to Culture Minister K C Joseph and Minister for Cinema K B Ganesh Kumar and demanded to reduce the delegate fee of the film festival. The Forum also demanded reinstatement of direct registration till the beginning of the IFFK. They demanded organisers to publish the expense of the festivals held. The expense of IFFK must be published online, the Forum demanded. “The Government must take steps to arrange low-cost and safe accommodation for the women delegates. Arrangements for accommodation at Yatri Nivas, Rest House or Guest house should be made for delegates. Drinking water must be made available at the venues. Canteen, providing low-cost, quality food also must be opened for the delegates,” the Forum demanded.The other demands include, take steps to keep the latrines in theatres clean, arrange more autos for delegates, avoid unnecessary intervention of police, and include Delegate Forum representatives into the IFFK organising committee.The Forum demanded the organisers to avoid seat booking. “First come first sit must be the order,” they said. They also demanded to avoid the charging of extra fee during the last hours. The copy of plea has been sent to Film Academy chairman Priyadarsan, secretary K G Santhosh, Shashi Tharoor MP, and V Shivankutty MLA. New Office-bearersAt a meeting held on Wednesday, K V Padmanabhan has been selected as the president of the IFFK Delegate Forum. C K Babu is the vice-president. Sagar Mohan Roy is the secretary, while Mohammed Rafi and Shaiju C S are the joint secretaries. Sridhar P is the PR secretary. Jyothi Kumar is the treasurer.
