Programme for sensitising media

BHUBANESWAR: Sakha, a community-based organisation of sexual minorities, organised a ‘media sensitisation’ programme to discuss the coverage of media on sensitive issues. The focus of the programme was to analyse how the media has reported issues relating to sexual minorities in the past and how they can help them in future. “We are trying to set up a Sexual Minority Welfare Board and have appealed to the State Government to help us in this regard,” said Shubam, a member of the organisation. They want to be accepted by people and reap benefits of  Government schemes.
