THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The Indian Railway will soon open an e-ticketing counter at the Santhigiri Ashram. “As having a permanent reservation centre is a long drawn out process, we are thinking of having such an initiative to start with. The guidelines for the functioning of the e-ticketing counter have been framed and handed over to the authorities concerned at the Ashram,” said Rajesh Agarwal, Thiruvananthapuram Divisional Railway Manager. “The Railway, which has a pavilion at the ongoing Santhigiri Fest, is reportedly planning to make the facility available here considering the flow of tourists from home and abroad to the ashram,” says Swami Padmaprakasa Jnana Thapaswi, in-charge of Santhigiri Fest celebration division. The pavilion, which distributes pamphlets elaborating on the history of the Indian Railways and appended with instructions on rail safety and electrification of rail tracks, has been drawing crowds at the fest. The facility is going to be beneficial for people who are staying in and around Pothencode, Kazhakkoottam and Venjaramoodu.
