Rain continues in parts of eastern UP

Light to moderate rain or thundershowers occurred at isolated places over the eastern region of Uttar Pradesh.

According to the MeT department, Varanasi recorded 9-cm of rainfall since Saturday evening, followed by Auraiya 5-cm and Mirzapur 4-cm. Jaunpur, Basti, Bahraich, Lalgunj (Azamgarh) received 3-cm of rains each, while Phoolpur, Banda and Gorakhpur recorded 2-cm of rainfall each. A MeT forecast said rain or thundershowers may occur at many places over the state on Monday.
