CHENNAI: PMK founder S Ramadoss has expressed his misgivings about the report submitted to Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa by Tamil Nadu Backward Classes Commission Chairman Justice M S Janarthanam. He flagged his objection to procedures used in the Socio-Economic and Caste Census (SECC) that is currently underway, saying gaps in the recording of data were rendering the census useless. Ramadoss, in a statement to the media, alleged that Justice Janarthanam had misled Jayalalithaa by using old statistics in the report he submitted to her. The report had been meant to justify TN’s 69 per cent reservation in education in jobs. The Supreme Court, on July13, 2010, asked the government to extend its 69 per cent reservations after holding a caste census. This was done to justify crossing limit of maximum 50 percent reservations set by the court.
