Rape accused nabbed from Bengaluru

PARADIP: In a major breakthrough in the rape of a physically challenged girl, the accused was traced to Bengaluru and arrested recently.  Addressing mediapersons on Wednesday, Jagatsinghpur  SP S Devdatta Singh said that accused Bikram Dash of Chandilo village under Tirtol police limits was traced in Karnataka. Dash had fled the village after committing the crime.  All measures had been taken to locate him  and a team of district police was sent to Karnataka on a tip off about his presence in Bengaluru. Police apprehended him in Haralur under HSR layout police station near the southern city of Bengaluru.Following the rape a villager lodged an FIR with Tirtol police and a case was registered.
