In a big lapse at the Rajendra Nagar metro station, unidentified men stabbed a metro official inside the station premises and stole Rs 12 lakh. The incident happened at 5:30 am on Monday.
The two suspects entered the metro station and targeted the control room where the ticketing counter is located.
Sources say both the assailants were aware about the fact that the cash counter would be having extra cash as they banks are closed on Saturday and Sunday. Both the attackers are said to have worn surgical masks.
The incident is a huge security lapse as the suspects entered the station with a knife even before the first metro train services started for the day.
While it is not clear whether the attack has been caught on camera, police is examining all CCTV cameras at the station to trace the suspects.
