New Delhi: Samsung has finally launched its next-generation Note smartphone, the Galaxy Note 4, in India at a price of Rs 58,300. The Galaxy Note 4 will be available in the market from October 17 - the same day Apple's iPhone 6, iPhone 6 Plus will hit the store shelves in India.
The Galaxy Note 4 features a 5.7-inch Quad HD (2560x1440) Super AMOLED display. The new Note has a metal frame and soft-textured back cover. The Galaxy Note 4 has a 16 megapixel rear camera with optical image stabilisation that counter-balances camera shake and automatically extends exposure time in dark settings.
Its 3.7-megapixel front camera is claimed to capture 60 per cent more light. The front camera offers a default 90-degree shooting angle and up to 120 degree wide angle to help users capture better selfies.
Samsung says the muti-window feature in the Note 4 improves the multitasking experience. Samsung, in the Galaxy Note 4's S Pen, has doubled the pressure sensitivity from the Galaxy Note 3.
The S Pen in the Galaxy Note 4 can also work as a mouse cursor. The phone gets charged faster than its predecessor, and has low power consumption.
It weighs 176g and is 8.5mm thick. The Galaxy Note 4 also offers an improved fingerprint scanner. It runs Android 4.4 KitKat OS.
The Galaxy Note 4 will be available in Charcoal Black, Frost White, Bronze Gold, and Blossom Pink.
Samsung has also its Samsung Gear S smartwatch, priced at Rs 28,900, which features 512 MB RAM and 4 GB internal memory.
It has also unveiled the Gear Circle, a neckband to help control calls/music for about Rs 8,500. ####
