New Delhi: Samsung announced the launch of a slew of Android and Windows-powered devices at Samsung Premiere 2013 in London.
The device unveiled at the event include Samsung's Android-based Galaxy NX camera that combines Android and interchangeable lens system, Ativ Q tablet that runs dual OS, and the world's thinnest Windows 8 tablet, Ativ Tab 3.
Besdies, the company also showcased the recently announced variants of the Galaxy S4 - Galaxy S4 mini, zoom, Active. Samsung announced that its flagship smartphone, Galaxy S4, will now come in five new colours - Blue Arctic, Purple Mirage, Red Aurora, Brown Autumn, Pink Twilight.
Galaxy NX camera
Samsung announced the launch of the Galaxy NX, which it claims to be the first 3G/4G LTE connected camera. It is an interchangeable lens Android camera with 4G LTE connectivity.
It supports a wide array of interchangeable lenses. The Galaxy NX has a 20.3 megapixel APS-C Sensor which is claimed to produce images which are bright and detailed, even in low light conditions.
Powered by a quad-core processor, the camera runs Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean.The Galaxy NX has an internal storage of 16GB, and supports a microSD card up to 64GB. It has 2 GB RAM.
With Android 4.2 Jelly Bean, the functionality of a smartphone is utilised to improve the photographic experience. Users can choose from an entire universe of Android apps to help personalise their Galaxy NX camera.
Ativ Q and Ativ Tab 3
The company unveiled two new tablets - the Ativ Q and Ativ Tab 3. The Ativ Q is truly convertible device that runs both Windows 8 and Android 4.2.2. It lets user seamlessly switch between the two - Windows and Android.
Users will not only get access to Android apps via Google Play but also be able to transfer files from Windows 8 to Android. It weighs 1.29kg and is 13.9mm thick. The Ativ Q is claimed to have the world's highest resolution, QHD+ (3200x1800) display.
The tablet's 13.3-inch touch screen offers 2.8 times higher pixel density (275ppi) than full HD displays, claims Samsung.
The Ativ Tab 3 is claimed to be the world's thinnest Windows 8 tablet. It measures 8.2 mm thick and weighs 550g.
Both tablets comes with an S Pen. SideSync is available on both Ativ Q and Ativ Tab 3, enabling users to switch from working on their PC to an Android-based Samsung smartphone.
Windows 8 PCs - Ativ Book 9 Plus, Ativ Book 9 Lite, Ativ One 5 Style
Samsung unveiled three new Windows 8 PCs under the recently expanded ATIV brand: Ativ Book 9 Plus, Ativ Book 9 Lite, Ativ One 5 Style.
The Ativ Book 9 Plus is the next generation of the Ativ Book 9. The aluminum, unibody design features several enhancements from the previous model, including a Windows 8 optimised touchscreen. It has a QHD+ (3200x1800) display.
The Ativ Book 9 Lite targets larger consumer base. It includes a ten-point touchscreen, quad-core processor and a 256GB SSD. Weighing three and a half pounds and measuring less than an inch thick, the Book 9 supports Samsung SideSync technology for interaction between a user's PC and smartphone.
The One 5 Style is an all-in-one desktop PC built with the Galaxy design aesthetic, and features a full HD (1920x1080) touchscreen.
