State Bank of Travancore’s (SBT) first-ever Prathibha Samman awards, instituted for outstanding achievements, were presented to Mar Thoma Valiyametropolitan Philipose Mar Chrysostum and ‘Metro man’ E Sreedharan by State Planning Board vice-chairman K M Chandrasekhar.
The awards have been instituted to honour those who are active in community services, humanitarian activities or charity at the national-state levels. SBT managing director P Nandakumaran presented gold medals to the recipients.
Sajeev Krishnan and E K Harikumar, chief general managers, handed over the citations.
The meeting was attended by the top officials of the bank and invited guests. The meeting concluded with a musical evening led by Vijay Yesudas and Rimi Tomy.
