SC surprised over 2G zero-loss TRAI report
It's a serious debatable issue what they have done in recent days, the court said on TRAI report.

New Delhi: The Supreme Court on Wednesday expressed surprise over the TRAI report which purportedly assessed zero loss in the 2G spectrum allocation.

It's a serious debatable issue what they have done in recent days, the court said on TRAI report.

The Central Bureau Of Investigation (CBI) also informed the court that they have not accepted the TRAI report.

The Comptroller and Auditor General (CAG) has in its report calculated a presumptive loss of Rs 1.76 lakh crore.

Meanwhile, Janata Party president Subramanian Swamy on Wednesday filed additional documents in Supreme Court, which includes minutes of the meeting between former telecom minister A Raja and Home Minister P Chidambaram which took place on January 30, 2008.

He has also produced another letter dated March 25, 2011, written by Ministry of Finance to the Prime Minister's Office (PMO).

A Finance Ministry note send by Pranab Mukherjee to Prime Minister Manmohan Singh has cast doubts over the role Home Minister P Chidambaram, who was the then finance minister, in the 2G spectrum allocation scam.

According to the document, the January 2008 decision of former telecom minister A Raja to issue 2G licences could have been cancelled if then finance minister Chidambaram had disagreed. The Finance Ministry note on 2G says Chidambaram sent a secret note to Prime Minister on January 15, 2008 to treat spectrum allocation as "closed chapter".
