THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The winners in the state-level school youth parliament organised by the Institute of Parliamentary Affairs in association with the Education Department interacted with Chief Minister Oommen Chandy on Monday. “Keralites should develop a common aspiration for development,” the Chief Minister told the students. He said it was unfortunate that development projects in the state always courted controversies. To a query, the Chief Minister said that Kerala had no enmity with Tamil Nadu on the Mullaperiyar issue. The only requirement of the state is to set up a new dam for the safety of the people. The Chief Minister also said that Kerala still lacked a model for waste disposal. “The government is trying to address the garbage issue through decentralised garbage treatment and by employing modern technology,” he said.
