Lisbon: Luiz Felipe Scolari will resign as Portugal coach on Tuesday, according to Friday's edition of the sports daily Record.
The newspaper, which quotes no sources, says that the 57-year-old Brazilian will meet with Portuguese Football Federation president Gilberto Madail to explain why he's quitting.
The federation would not confirm or deny the report.
"If there is anything to say about that it will be said through our website or through our president," federation press officer Bruno Henriques said.
Portugal play Germany on Sunday 00:30 IST in the World Cup third-place playoff after losing to France in the second semi-final.
Scolari, who won the World Cup as coach of Brazil in 2002, took Portugal to the final of the 2004 European Championship.
