Seminal on child rights held for students

BANGALORE: Students were empowered with the knowledge of child rights at a seminar held exclusively for students at St Joseph’s College of Commerce here on Saturday.108 students from 12 colleges attended the seminar titled ‘Role of Youth in Promoting Rights of 'Children’ in collaboration with South India Cell for Human Rights Education and Monitoring (SICHREM).Sony Kutty George, specialist, child protection, UNICEF, Hyderabad said that the most essential right that a child requires is to live with dignity.“It is because you have an empathetic heart and an ability to reach out to people is the reason you are present for this seminar,” he said.
