London: Fast bowler Shoaib Akhtar could return to the Pakistan team for the third Test against England at Headingley in Leeds, coach Bob Woolmer said on Monday.
He arrives in England on Tuesday following treatment on his injured ankle.
Shoaib had taken 17 wickets in his team's 2-0 victory over England in Pakistan last year.
Pakistan drew the first in a four-test series with England at Lord's on Monday.
"We would like to think he's in line for Headingley but there is still plenty of work for him to do," Woolmer said on Monday.
"It will depend on how he comes through the next 10 to 15 days."
Pakistan took the field at Lord's without three first choice pace bowlers, including Shoaib and Mohammad Asif who had returned home for treatment on an elbow injury.
