KASARGOD: Kerala Chief Minister Oommen Chandy on Monday said the Special Investigation Team (SIT) constituted by the previous LDF government to probe the 'ice cream parlour' sex case would continue investigation into the matter."Law will take its own course," Chandy said on the sidelines of a function here, denying CPI-M's claims that the UDF government was trying to sabotage the cases involving some of its ministers by transferring police officers, who were in charge of the investigations.Replying to a query whether action would be taken against former CPI-M Kannur district secretary P Sasi, facing charges of misbehaviour towards women party functionaries, Chandy said "if complaint is received, it would be probed."Earlier, Chandy disbursed financial aid to students and the families of those affected by endosulfan pesticide.The chief minister said 486 families would get the assistance, including 176 families who have already been given Rs 50,000 each by the previous government.The UDF government had hiked the financial assistance to Rs one lakh each and as such the 176 families will get another Rs 50,000 and 310 families will receive Rs one lakh each, he said.The government had also decided to start seven special schools for the endosulfan victims in the district, he said.
