The much-awaited Intelligent Traffic Management System (ITMS), will be soon coming to Noida along the 24-km Noida-GreaterNoida Expressway. Work on ITMS on the expressway is expected to be completed by the year end. Its most important feature is the low response time to an accident. In addition, the system will monitor and manage traffic flow on the expressway and is is expected to bring down the accident rate by about 25 per cent.
The Noida Authority has initiated tenders to construct a command control centre for the ITMS, says a report in Times of India.
The the four-storey control room, costing Rs 6.25 crore, will be set up near the clover leaf of Mahamaya Flyover in Sector 94 Noida and will be constructed across a 5,000-square-metre area. The last date for application is August 14. The tender will be on a two-bid system with the pre-qualification bids being discussed on August 18 and the the price bids being finalized two days later.
