Firing a fresh salvo at the Congress, Narendra Modi on Saturday accused it of "working overtime" through CBI and "agents" to send him to jail, saying it failed to implicate him in the last 10 years as he came out "clean".
"CBI worked round the clock to implicate and send me behind bars. Madam Sonia's government and agents worked overtime to ruin me but what happened? I came out clean," Modi said, addressing an election rally in support of Sonaram Chaudhary, BJP candidate from the keenly watched constituency of Barmer.
Barmer constituency in Rajasthan has generated a lot of interest as expelled BJP leader Jaswant Singh is contesting from here as an Independent. Sonaram was a former Congress MLA before he joined the BJP.
"They (Congress) have only one agenda --- stop Modi. Why are they restless and upset and why are they conspiring because they know that if Modi comes (to power), where will be their place after May 16," the BJP Prime Ministerial candidate taunted.
Exuding confidence that the BJP would win all the 25 constituencies in Rajasthan, Modi said Congress would not be able to touch double figure in any of the states and would not be able to win even a single seat in some states including Rajasthan.
"Congress has never seen such bad days before. They areafraid, have left the battle and accepted defeat," he said.
Taking a jibe at Rahul Gandhi for mentioning 'Dhoom' movie for attacking BJP in his speech during a rally, Modi said, the Congress vice president remembered the Abhishek Bachchan-John Abraham starrer "because of a motorcycle ride he had with a history-sheeter after Gopalgarh firing incident in 2009."
"Shehzade remembered Dhoom film because of a ride on a stolen motorcycle with a history sheeter in Rajasthan's Gopalgarh. He kept then chief minister Ashok Gehlot in the dark and reached Gopalgarh where he rode pillion on a motorcycle, which was a stolen bike, with a historysheeter."
"In Dhoom-3 (starring Abhishek and Aamir Khan), father and son do all the things and in the country, mother and son (Sonia and Rahul) play games. The country has seen their two Dhooms but Dhoom-3 sequel (of mother and son) is not going to happen now," Modi said.
In his speech, Modi also raised the issue of refugees, accusing the government of giving undue favour to immigrants from Bangladesh while denying any facility to displaced persons from Pakistan. Modi made a strong pitch for extending citizenship rights to refugees from Pakistan.
"If any one comes from Bangladesh then he is welcomed and all rules are broken for him. But the same is not done for refugees from Pakistan coming here," he said. Sympathising with refugees from Pakistan, he said, "They come here because they love India. They have come from
Pakistan not with any ulterior motives. They are shouting Bharat Mata Ki Jai. They do not get any citizenship benefits.
Why should they be denied? We need to end this politics of votebanks." "I want to assure you that you are also like Indian citizens. We will do justice and give all rights to you," he said.
Targeting former Punjab Chief Minister and Congress candidate from Amritsar Amrinder Singh, Modi accused him of not divulging details of foreign bank accounts held under his wife and son's name in his affidavit while filing nomination papers and demanded response from the party.
"A complaint has been filed with the Election Commission against the former chief minister of Punjab and Congress candidate from Amritsar that he has not divulged details of foreign bank accounts under his wife and son's name. This is a very serious issue and Congress should give answer on it," Modi said.
On the issue of black money stashed in foreign banks, he said people want it brought back to the country "but those who have looted the money and parked it in foreign banks are against this."
"You people say that the black money should be brought back to the country but there are people in the country who are against this. It is those "lootere" (robbers) who do not want the black money back to the country," he said.
Addressing a rally in the tribal belt of Banswara's Saladia area near Beneswar dham, Modi lashed out at Congress and its leaders for not being sensitive towards tribals and asked people to vote for BJP in order to teach them a lesson.
Attacking Rahul, Modi said poverty for the Congress Vice President is not more than "an occasion to get clicked by cameras."
