KOCHI: Drinking water projects which have been undertaken in various parts of the district should be completed in a time-bound manner, K V Thomas Minister of State for Agriculture, has said. He was speaking at the districtlevel advisory committee organised to discuss issues in the distribution of drinking water here on Monday.The minister instructed the officials to prepare a comprehensive report on the issue. The committee will be convened again on February 27 to finalise the report.He said that measures will be initiated at the earliest to replace the old pipelines.“Immediate measures will be taken to solve the leaks in the distribution network.A situation leading to the disruption of water supply, owing to the rift between the Kerala State Electricity Board and the Kerala Water Authority (KWA) on pending dues, should be tackled immediately,” he said.The meeting also discussed various issues pertaining to the Jawaharlal Nehru National Urban Renewal Mission (JNNURM) project.The KWA officials said that most of the problems related to drinking water will end once the big projects are commissioned.
