ANGAMALY: The State has gone back on its performance in higher and technology education recently, though it is leading in general education, Chief Minister Oommen Chandy said. He was inaugurating decennial celebrations of FISAT (Federal Institute of Science and Technology) at Hormis Nagar in Mookkannoor. Even small and backward states have achieved tremendous growth in higher education. The difference of opinion on how to implement the policies is the major ailment, the Minister said.The Government is committed to settle all the disputes, like fees and admission, soon. The Government would find a permanent solution for the next year admissions, immediately after this Assembly Session, Chief Minister assured. Social justice would be ensured for all sections of the society, he added.“The world is progressing fast. We are duty bound to provide new opportunities and introduce new courses for the new generation.” Chandy also said that the infrastructure of professional colleges should be utilised to introduce new courses. This would help the students besides generating income, Chandy added.The Chief Minister also inaugurated the new FISAT building in this connection. Minister K Babu was the chief guest. FISAT Chairman P V Mathew presided over the function. Federal Bank MD and CEO Shyam Srinivasan, K P Dhanapalan MP, Jose Thettayil MLA, Johny Nelloor Ex-MLA, Paul P Joseph Mookkannoor Panchayat Presidsent, Jose Madassery PTA President, P D Bousality Vice-Chairman of FISAT Governing Body, Principal K V Sundaresan and Vice-Prinicipal C Sheela also spoke.
