BANGALORE: The strike by the silk farmers in Channapatna disrupted traffic on the Bangalore-Mysore corridor for more than three hours on Sunday. Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC) services were delayed by more than 3 hours as buses were stuck in long traffic jams near the venue of the strike.“Buses were delayed for up to 3 hours due to huge traffic pile ups on the highway. Services were affected since 11.30 in the morning,” said T S Latha, public relations officer for KSRTC. “We had to divert buses to alternative routes like Kanakpura in order to maintain timings, however the services are now operational,” added K A Rajkumar, director operations. One of the states most busy corridors, the Bangalore-Mysore highway sees heavy traffic on all days of the week. It is the most ideal approach road to states like Kerala and Srirangapatna, Bandipur and others.
