Sudha Raghunathan gets Annamalai Chettiar award

CHENNAI: The Dr Rajah Sir Annamalai Chettiar Birth Anniversary Commemoration Award was presented to noted vocalist Sudha Raghunathan here on Thursday.The award, which carries a citation, a plaque and a cheque for `1 lakh, was presented to Sudha Raghunathan by former Supreme Court judge Doraiswamy Raju. The award marks the occasion of the 131st birth anniversary celebrations of Dr Rajah Sir Annamalai Chettiar of Chettinad.Dr M A M Ramaswamy, pro-chancellor of Annamalai University and patron of Rajah Sir Annamalai Chettiar Memorial Trust, M A M R Muthiah, president of the trust and Dr T Gnana Sundaram, former Tamil professor of Pachaiyappa’s College spoke on the occasion.The speakers hailed Dr Rajah Sir Annamalai Chettiar’s philanthropy.
