BHUBANESWAR: The State Government on Saturday promoted six senior IAS officers and effected a minor reshuffle.Principal Secretary in the Excise Department Pradipta Ranjan Saha has been promoted to the rank of chief secretary and posted as the new Administrator of KBK.Three IAS officers of 1987 batch __ NK Sundaray, Rajesh Verma and RK Sharma __ have been promoted to the rank of principal secretary. Sundaray will be Principal Secretary of the newly-carved out Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME) and Information and Public Relations departments.After returning from Central deputation, Verma has been posted as Principal Secretary, School and Mass Education Department, in place of Aparajita Sarangi who has been transferred and posted as Higher Education Secretary in place of Chandra Sekhar Kumar. Kumar will be the new Secretary of Technical Education, Employment and Training. On promotion, Revenue Secretary Sharma has been posted as Principal Secretary, Forest and Environment and Excise departments. He was holding additional charge of Forest and Environment Department. On return from Central deputation, Tara Dutt has been posted as Principal Secretary, Revenue and Disaster Management Department. Industries Secretary T Ramchandru has been shifted and posted as Chairman-cum-Managing Director of Industrial Development Corporation of Orissa Limited (Idcol). Parag Gupta, Secretary to Governor, has been given additional charge of Industries Department. Steel and Mines Secretary Manoj Ahuja has been given additional charge of Sports and Youth Affairs Department which was with Gupta. The shuffling was done after taking permission from the State Election Commission in view of the panchayat polls.
