Telangana stir to go militant way
Students of the region warned Seemandhra employees that they would not hesitate to attack if the stir is disrupted...

HYDERABAD: In a disconcerting development, the Telangana students, for the first time, handed out the threat of physical attacks on Seemandhra employees if they tried to disrupt the indefinite strike by their Telangana counterparts from August 17.“We will protect our employees. If any Andhra employees try to throw a spanner, we will not hesitate in beating them up,” Telangana Students’ Joint Action Committee (TSJAC) leaders said Friday. The worrying aspect is that the students made the threat immediately after their meeting, which was attended by TRS chief K Chandrasekhar Rao and TJAC chairman Prof M Kodandaram. After the meeting, the TSJAC members said they would extend full support to the Sakala Janula Samme (general strike) and paralyse the state government. It believes the strike would bring the Centre to its knees and deliver a Telangana state.“We will not allow employees’ buses to start from their point of origin to the Secretariat. We will not allow city buses to transport employees,” TSJAC leaders said. After August 17, TSJAC is likely to give an indefinite bandh call too. After five hours of deliberations, the TSJAC came out with an action plan to intensify the movement from August 1.TSJAC chairman Pidamarthi Ravi, leaders Raja Ram Yadve and G Kishore, told mediapersons they would organise students’ conventions in all colleges for seven days from August 5 besides other protests.
