Gurdaspur: The three terrorists who attacked a police station in Dinanagar area of Gurdaspur district in the Punjab on Monday morning were caught on a CCTV walking towards their target. CNN-IBN has accessed the footage of 4:55 AM on Monday which shows the three heavily armed Lashkar-e-Toiba terrorists walking on a road towards an eatery.

The CCTV was installed in one of the shops on the road which was used by the terrorists to walk unchallenged towards the police station. The terrorists killed seven people including one Superintendent of Police Baljeet Singh and three home guards before all of them were eliminated.

Preliminary probe into the terror strike indicates that the three terrorists had entered Indian from Pakistan through Bamiyal village close to the International Border.

The Global Positioning System (GPS) sets indicate they crossed the Ravi river to enter Punjab. Sources say that the terrorists came from Mastgarh in Pakistan. What is more worrying is that 2 to 3 terrorists could still be in hiding.

According to sources, Punjab Police was alerted nearly 2 months ago of a possible suicide attack. The investigators are pinning their hope on seized GPS, a compass used by travellers to reach their destinations, to ascertain the movements of the terrorists who were killed in the gunbattle.

As part of the probe, a high-level forensic team visited the abandoned building on Tuesday near the Dinanagar police station where the terrorists were holed up. The four-member team led by Davinder Pal Sehgal and Ashwani Kumar started their investigations, police said.

Director General of Punjab Police Sumedh Singh Saini had said the terrorists were carrying sophisticated weapons. "We have recovered 'Made in China' grenades from them. They were wearing combat fatigues," he had said.
