Over the weekend, Islamic State released a 22-minute video showing Indian origin fighters brandishing guns and warning of attacks on homeland to avenge everything from Gujarat riots to Kashmir to the Babri Masjid demolition.
CNN-News18 has revealed that these men threatening mayhem as ISIS fighters are the same Indian Mujahideen terrorists who wreaked havoc in India in 2008.
1. Bada Sajid alias Abu Toseb
A resident of Azamgarh in Uttar Pradesh who is wanted in connection with the 2008 blasts in Delhi, Jaipur and Ahmedabad. He reportedly fled when NIA began a crackdown against IM.
It was reported that he died in July 2015 while fighting for ISIS in Syria.According to the video, he said, "India is a place of deity worship which is forbidden by the almighty."
2. Abu Omar Farooq Al Hindi alias Abu Rashid
He is a former member of IM and is wanted in connection with the 2008 serial blasts.He fled with Bada Sajid to Pakistan, Afghanistan and then reached out to ISIS.
"Post-Batla House encounter it became difficult for us to survive in India. We prayed to the almighty to have mercy and he showed us the way," he had said, as per the video.
3. Abu Salha al Hindi
He is a former Indian Mujhaideen south commander. "Are you all cowards? Don't listen to those preaching Islam as a religion of peace. Not even for a day was Islam a religion of peace," he said.
4. Abu Ammar al Hindi alias Fahad Sheikh
He is one of the five Thane boys who fled to join ISIS in 2015. He operated multiple Twitter accounts to spread ISIS propaganda.
Accounts like @magnetgas, @cihadci, @pneumatic11, @tungsten9, @helium61 were blocked by agencies. He tweeted about death of Shaeem Tanki, another Thane boy who joined ISIS.
"We invite the Muslims of Indian subcontinent to join this fight," he said in the video.
5. Aman Tandel
He is one of the five Thane boys who fled to join ISIS in 2015. He threatened to avenge Gujarat and Muzaffarnagar riots and Babri Masjid demolition.
"We will come with swords to avenge Gujarat, Muzaffarnagar and Babri Masjid," he said.
6. Abu Salman al Hindi
He is identified as Indian but past antecedents are yet to be established.
"Spend your time preparing for jihad," he said in the video.
