HYDERABAD: The Telangana Political Joint Action Committee (TJAC) called off its three-day rail roko programme on Sunday itself. It gave a call for bandh on Monday denouncing the police ‘excesses’ against Telangana activists who took part in the rail roko programme. The TJAC steering committee meeting was held at Telangana Bhavan to discuss the future course of action to achieve T.It was attended by TRS chief K Chandrasekhara Rao and leaders of other constituent parties. The meeting thanked people of Telangana region for making the rail roko programme a success.Though the TJAC decided to organise the Million March programme in Hyderabad city, it is yet to finalise the date. No decision was taken on exemption of educational institutions from the ongoing Sakala Janula Samme.Later, briefing newsmen, TJAC chairman M Kodandaram flayed chief minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy and DGP V Dinesh Reddy for directing the police to file cases against Telangana activists, including MPs and MLAs as part of their game plan to foil the rail roko. The police who arrested a large number of Telangana activists, failed to provide basic amenities at police stations. The weak government may collapse at anytime as only the chief minister and the DGP are exercising power ignoring other cabinet ministers, he said. The TJAC chairman demanded that all the Telangana ministers should quit their posts for the Telangana cause. It would mount pressure on the Union government to deliver Telangana, he said.Protests at Houses of Jana Reddy, SabitaPro-Telangana advocates staged a protest at the house of Panchayat Raj minister K Jana Reddy on Sunday demanding his resignation to the post. They flayed Jana Reddy for his ‘adverse remarks’ on Sakala Janula Samme.Mild tension prevailed at the place when the advocates entered into an argument with the police present there. Some of the protesters were taken into police custody and let off later.Denouncing the arrest of women activists during the rail roko programme of the TJAC, members of the TRS women’s wing tried to barge into the house of home minister P Sabita Indra Reddy. They raised slogans against the minister and demanded her resignation to the post for the T cause. The police prevented them from forcibly entering the minister’s house. The police who took some women into custody, freed them later.
