THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: In less than two weeks after the alleged harassment of a woman passenger by two ticket examiners, a TTE was arrested by the Railway Protection Force for misbehaving with a woman passenger on Tuesday.Ramesh Kumar, 54, TTE of the Rajadhani Express from New Delhi to Thiruvananthapuram was arrested in Kollam on a complaint filed by V K Hemalatha, an employee of the passport office here. He was remanded in two weeks’ judicial custody by the Chief Judicial Magistrate Court IV here.On examination, conducted using breath analyser at the Thampanoor railway station on Tuesday morning, it was found that the TTE had not consumed alcohol.Hemalatha had boarded the train from Margao, Goa, on Monday afternoon on the A-1 coach. In her complaint, she said that the TTE, who came to her seat no 9, started to befriend her by offering her tea and coffee and tried to touch her while passing lewd comments between Udupi and Mangalapuram. She informed her relatives about this over phone and the RPF arrested the official. Before producing him in the ACJM court, he was subjected to medical examination.In the earlier case involving two TTEs, Southern Railway authorities had withdrawn the suspension of Jafar and Praveen, who misbehaved with M R Jayageetha, poet and a research officer in the State Planning Board.
