The Bihar government on Tuesday enhanced the travel facility for legislators as part of which now they could travel in trains or by air with four aides in place of three earlier.
The decision to allow a legislator to take four aides with him during travel by train or air within the country was taken at a meeting of state cabinet presided over by Chief Minister Jitan Ram Manjhi.
The total amount for the travel purpose, however, remained at Rs 2 lakh per year.
The new facility was provided by amending the Legislators salary and pension Act 2006, Principal Secretary Cabinet Coordination Brajesh Mehrotra told reporters briefing about cabinet decisions.
But, ex-Legislators could take only three aides with them on tour and for them the annual amount would be Rs one lakh, Mehrotra added.
