Tributes paid to Indira Gandhi

PUDUCHERRY: Floral tributes were paid to former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi on the occasion of her 94th birth anniversary on Saturday.On behalf of the government of Puducherry, Chief Minister N Rangasamy garlanded the statue of Indira Gandhi along with his Cabinet colleagues. Speaker V Sabapathy, legisaltors and senior officials of the administration were among others who garlanded the statue at Ellapillaichavdy here to mark the occasion.The national integration pledge was also taken at the pedestal of the statue.Rich tributes were paid to a decorated portrait of the leader  at the All India N R Congress office at Ellaipillaichavady. Former CM V Vaithilingam and PCC resident A V Subramanian, among others, garlanded the leader’s statue on behalf of the Congress party. Besides glowing tributes were paid to a decorated portrait of Indira Gandhi at the PCC office.
