BANGALORE: Mohammad Khafeel Akhtar alias Khafeel, the suspected Indian Mujahideen operative who was arrested by the CCB sleuths in connection with the twin blasts at M Chinnaswamy Stadium on April 17, 2010, has been remanded in police custody till May 22.The police, who had arrested Khafeel at Barasmela village in Lalganj of Darbhanga district in Bihar last Sunday, brought him to the city on Tuesday night and produced him before the Magistrate of the 1st ACMM Court at his residence under tight security.Police sought the Magistrate to give Khafeel to their custody for interrogation for 15 days. Accepting their plea, the Magistrate remanded Khafeel in police custody till May 22. Later, the police took Khafeel to an undisclosed location, where he was questioned about the case.Sources said that Khafeel was being grilled about the conspiracy, his links with other accused in the case and other details.LeT suspect in police custody till May 22Meanwhile, Syed Abdul Rehman alias Abdur Rehman alias Abdul Rehman, 25, a suspected operative of banned terrorist outfit Lashkar- e-Taiba arrested by CCB police in Adugodi on Monday evening, has also been remanded in police custody till May 22.He was produced before the Magistrate of the 1st ACMM Court along with Khafeel and the police took Rehman in their custody with the Magistrate’s permission.He is also being questioned about his links and other alleged conspiracies.
