Two hotels asked to close down

Food Safety officials on Saturday asked the managements of Indian Coffee House at Thampanoor and Mubaraq Hotel at Chala to close down in view of the finding that the kitchens of the eateries were  functioning in unhygienic conditions.

The managements have been asked to improve the conditions before  opening the eateries. The Indian Coffee House’s kitchen is adjacent to a drainage carrying the  filth of the city and there are no precautions to check the flies and rats entering the kitchen, officials said.
