CHENNAI: With the festival of lights coming up, the Rajasthan Cosmo Club Foundation saw it fit to light up the lives of students studying at the MOP Vaishnav Primary School, by distributing uniforms to them. More than 300 students from classes one to five benefitted by this initiative, as each student was given two new sets of uniforms. The event was held at the newly constructed two-storey school building in Triplicane. Hari Shankar Agarwal of the Rajasthan Cosmo Club Foundation gave away the uniforms. N Vittal, former Chief Vigilance Commissioner, in his address to the children, said, “Don’t let anyone tell you that you cannot come up in life because of your status. Each of you has a bright future ahead of you.”The students expressed their thanks in the form of poetry. Revathy, who delivered a little speech thanking the guests on behalf of the students, said, “We are very grateful to the people who have thought about us and our needs.”Others who were present at the event included president of the MOP Charities MD Srinivas and Vice Principal of MOP Vaishnav College for Women CV Geetha. S Parthasarathy, Secretary of MOP Charities, conveyed his wishes through Srinivas.
