Mumbai: In a case of suspected suicide, a 50-year-old American airhostess was on Wednesday found dead in the Taj Hotel in the metropolis, police said.

The Colaba police found a handwritten note near the body of Marlyn Dunston (Marlyn Dunston), a Delta Airlines hostess, in the bathroom of her hotel room.

The "suicide note", addressed to her mother, refers to unrequited love and expresses concern about her health, police said.

Along with other members of the crew, she had checked in at the hotel Tuesday afternoon after arriving here from the US and was to return in three-four days. She had asked the hotel staff to wake her up at 2100 hrs (IST).

However, after failing to get any response to repeated doorbells, the hotel staff broke open the room and then the bathroom, police said.

They found her body with a bleeding injury in the head and a bathroom curtain tied around her neck. The hook of the curtain was broken.

The blood stains and viscera have been sent for analysis and the post-mortem report is awaited, police said. They are also trying to get in touch with the victim's friends for information that could help solve the case.
