Uttarakhand Human Rights Commission will hold a two-day seminar in Dehradun on Friday to sensitise officials who interact directly with people about human rights issues.

Giving the information to reporters, Uttarakhand Human Rights Commission Chairman retired Justice Vijendra Jain said nearly 400 officials of the police, revenue police, law and jail departments will attend the seminar.

"Good governance is the yardstick to measure the success of any government and government officials and employees who have to interact directly with people on a regular basis must be sensitive to them," he said.

The seminar, to be inaugurated by Chief Minister Vijay Bahuguna on Friday, will conclude on December 21. Chief Justice of Uttarakhand High Court Barin Ghosh will be the chief guest of the valedictory session, he said.
