BANGALORE: The supervisory committee appointed by ISKCON Mumbai on Friday alleged that the Institute of Charted Accountants of India (ICAI) has held that V L Varadarajan, the charted accountant hired by ISKCON Bangalore President Madhu Pandit Dasa, guilty of professional misconduct for signing fraudulent account statements to help Madhu Pandit Dasa revive a defunct society.
ISKCON Temple President Varada Krishna Das said, "The High Court had declared that Madhu Pandit Dasa had revived a defunct society called ISKCON Bangalore, that was registered in 1978 after a gap of 23 years in 2001. They had created fabricated accounts from 19892001 to revive the society and Varadarajan had signed those documents. The disciplinary committee of the ICAI, which is an independent private agency, too has conformed it in its report.""There are allegations of large scale misappropriations in the Akshaya Patra Funds. After the committee report, we believe that Madhu Pandit Dasa is avoiding the supervisory committee to prevent us from unearthing those misappropriations," Varadakrishna Dasa added.
