VHP Warns Devotees Against Fake QR Codes Seeking Donations For Ayodhya Ram Mandir, Files Complaint
VHP urged the devotees to not donate money to unauthorised groups or individuals in the name of Ram temple in Ayodhya.

Ahead of the consecration ceremony for the Ram Mandir in Uttar Pradesh’s Ayodhya on January 22, various scams and rackets to loot the devotees are coming to light. The Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) on Sunday issued a caution warning devotees to be aware of such fake social media messages seeking donations for the Ayodhya temple.

Urging devotees to not donate money to such unauthorised groups or individuals, VHP spokesperson Vinod Bansal flagged the issue to Home Ministry and police chiefs in Delhi and Uttar Pradesh. The group has also urged Uttar Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath to take immediate action against the fraudsters.

Sharing the screenshots of such unauthorised QR codes, Bansal took to X and stressed that Shri Ram Janmbhoomi Teerth Kshetra, the trust overseeing the construction of the temple, has not authorised anyone to collect funds.

He further informed that the Hindu organisation has also sent a formal complaint to the Uttar Pradesh Director General of Police and IG Range Lucknow to take immediate steps in the matter of faith.

Releasing a video message in connection to the matter, Bansal said they have recently been informed about such attempts to collect money from the devotees in the name of Lord Ram. “Sri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Nyas has not authorised anyone to collect funds. I have written to the Home Ministry, Uttar Pradesh DGP and Delhi’s Commissioner of Police, seeking strict action so that people do not fall prey to such frauds,” he said.

VHP general secretary Milind Parande also informed that no one has been permitted to form a separate committee and print receipts to collect funds for the consecration ceremony at Shri Ram Janmabhoomi temple in Ayodhya.

Meanwhile, the selection process for the idol of Lord Ram Lalla was completed on Friday (December 29) and the unanimously selected idol will be brought for ‘Pran Pratishtha’ next month. Voting was conducted to decide the idol of Lord Ram Lalla, which will be installed inside the sanctum sanctorum of the grand temple on January 22, 2024.
